Job description

JOB TITLE:  Certified Material Handler

DEPARTMENT:  Valued Added Business Services

FLSA: Full-Time; Hourly/Non-Exempt

DURATION:  Open Until Filled

 

POSITION PURPOSE

We are seeking a Certified Material Handler to work at our off-site location (Cummins Engine Plant). As the Certified Material Handler, you will be responsible for daily work production such as sorting and rearranging freight for pickup, loading and unloading trucks, inspecting containers to ensure quality for reuse, as well as banding, packing, and processing products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:                               

·       Handle a variety of equipment, including operating a forklift.

·       Sand inside and edges of trays to ensure all burrs are removed.

·       Lifts trays by hand and clean work area daily.

·       Wash trays using high-pressure equipment.

·       Complete various maintenance tasks

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Prefer High School Diploma or equivalency (GED). Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be certified as a Forklift Operator. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work assigned shifts. Excellent communication skills.

HIRING RANGE: $15 to $17/hour
