JOB SUMMARY
The Laminator Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the adhesive lamination process to bond two or more substrates while maintaining production requirements, quality standards, and established safety procedures. The position is responsible for producing quality products in a timely manner while maximizing material utilization, minimizing scrap, and supporting overall production efficiency.
Shift Hours: 2:45pm - 11:00pm
Machine: L9
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Load and unload material on rewind machines by operating a hoist or motorized lifting device.
• Calculate correct number of yards needed for materials input and output.
• Ability to measure within 1/8" for selecting impression rolls to meet final required cut width.
• Properly flag document defective material as notification for the next process.
• Monitor viscosity of production liquids, calculate liquid amount needed to complete order, request more liquids from ink room if needed.
• Properly disposal of hazardous waste (training provided)
• Prepare quality samples and deliver to QA lab.
• Communicate with QA and react to results by making adjust to the lamination process
• Complete daily reporting/paperwork: Job Reports, daily production, job ticket, Shop Logix. Comply with GDP
• Verify order numbers, tickets numbers, and materials from production order
• Continued inspection of the machine and product to ensure quality product
• Conduct changeovers, including return raw materials, changing rubber rolls, cylinders, doctor blades, and knives; and breakdown and install raw material.
• Timely communication with departments, such as Machine Shop, Material Handlers, QA, and shift crew
• Identify hazardous waste and dispose in correct hazardous waste containers.
• Manage waste or waste containers in satellite areas.
• Label containers with an indication of the hazard(s) of the contents.
• Inspect satellite areas to ensure good condition of waste containers.
• Maintain a clean work area; following GMP
• Adhere to all safety regulations (including PPE standards)
• Perform related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Preferred 1-4 years of prior experience operating a Lamination machine
• Preferred experience in mechanical troubleshooting
• Self-directed with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to critically think through mechanical errors
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
• Walk and/or stand for the duration of their shift.
• Regularly lift from the floor to waist
• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Frequently carry, pull, or pull heavy materials up to 10 yards
• Occasionally climb, balance, kneel, squat
• Frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach
• Frequently use hands to grasp, manipulate, and repetitively move
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to:
• Frequently hot conditions (non-climate-controlled facility)
• Frequently to exposed to dust, fumes, gases, and wetness
• Occasionally to cold conditions and wetness
• Cleaning parts daily using solvents wearing appropriate PPE, including gloves,
• Noise level is loud, requiring ear protection.
