Job description

About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our team in our Pennsylvania Modification Center. This role actively supervises motor modification production and personnel supporting all assigned motor modification locations. This includes continuous monitoring of the motor modification process, ensuring team members are assigned clear tasks, troubleshooting issues that interfere with production, and working to continuously improve department processes. You will ensure compliance with all regulations and certifications as directed by motor engineering. You will be responsible to perform all personnel duties for all technicians of the department.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Effectively evaluate and adjust team workload, as necessary.
  • Increase effectiveness by providing tools, training, and standardized processes that support daily operations.
  • Communicate with al other departments to ensure proper workflow and timely completion of projects.
  • Participate in special projects, focused on department-level improvements.
  • Regularly mentor junior team members and trains, or assign the training of, new hires as well as promote mentoring skills.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance. Responsible for addressing employee complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure production areas are kept clean and organized and a professional environment is maintained in all production areas.
  • Drive improvements by recommending measures to review the processes, the performance of the team, the response time and the overall quality of service.
  • Promote and monitor the development of the team members and self by establishing and coordinating a training plan.
  • Ensure all materials and tools are in place to meet delivery schedule.
  • Participate in intra-department meetings to discuss scheduling, production, and quality issues.
  • Own team goals and results. Promote the goals to the team and report results continuously to management to keep production targets at the forefront.

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Associate degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience preferred.

Knowledge / training:

  • Knowledge of standard electric motor designs.
  • Knowledge of software tools such as, SAP, and similar software's, etc.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methods in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of company quality standards and procedures.
  • People management, motivation, and delegation techniques to support a common goal.
  • MS Office Suite.
  • Safety practices in an industrial environment.

Experience:

  • 5 years' experience in production of electric motor construction/modifications and/or gearbox assembly or comparable.
