Job Title: Business Admin Internship
Department: People & Culture
Immediate Supervisor's Title: Director – P&C
Date Of Last Revision: August 2026

Scope:
The Business Administration Intern will support the People & Culture team with day-to-day administrative work and hands-on projects that help employees feel informed, welcomed, connected, and supported. This internship provides practical exposure to employee orientation, recruitment coordination, personnel-file administration, compliance support, training initiatives, and employee engagement at a family-owned specialty paper manufacturing company with a 130-year history.

This role is designed for a detail-oriented, dependable student or early-career professional who enjoys working with people and keeping important information organized. The intern will work closely with the People & Culture team and will handle confidential employee information with discretion while learning how a manufacturing organization supports its workforce.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning and running new-hire orientations, including preparing materials, coordinating schedules, welcoming participants, and helping ensure a positive first-day experience.
  • Support recruitment activities by helping prepare job postings, organize applicant information, schedule interviews, communicate with candidates as directed, and maintain accurate recruitment records.
  • Assist with employee-file administration, including scanning, indexing, filing, and securely shredding documents in accordance with company procedures and records-retention requirements.
  • Support an internal Form I-9 audit by reviewing records for completeness and consistency under the direction of authorized People & Culture staff, documenting findings, and helping track follow-up actions. The intern will not make employment-eligibility determinations or provide legal advice.
  • Assist with the company training project by organizing training records, updating trackers, preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and helping follow up on completion status.
  • Participate in the “I Love My Workplace” employee engagement group by helping coordinate activities, prepare communications, collect feedback, and support initiatives that strengthen connection and workplace pride.
  • Prepare simple reports, spreadsheets, checklists, communications, and presentation materials for People & Culture projects.
  • Provide general administrative support, including data entry, meeting preparation, document organization, mailings, and other small projects that support the team’s priorities.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, accuracy, and respect in all interactions with employees, candidates, visitors, and business partners.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, organizational leadership, communications, or a related field; or a recent graduate seeking practical experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Professional communication skills and a willingness to work cooperatively with employees and leaders across a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel; comfortable learning new systems and processes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling employee and candidate information.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work on-site in Pulaski, New York.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in an office, customer-service, administrative, human-resources, or campus-organization setting.
  • Preferred: Interest in employee experience, recruiting, training, workplace culture, or human-resources operations.

Internship details:
  • Temporary internship based at the Felix Schoeller North America, Inc. facility in Pulaski, NY.
  • Schedule and compensation will be established in accordance with company internship guidelines, program requirements, and the intern’s availability and level of experience.
  • This position may involve regular interaction with employees and visitors and requires adherence to all company safety, security, confidentiality, and workplace-conduct expectations.
