Job Summary:

Congruex is creating an internal volumetric concrete and mobile batching division to support expanding micro-trench fiber optic programs in Colorado and eventually nationwide.

We are seeking a Volumetric / Mobile Batch Plant Manager to stand up, operate, and grow this division. This role goes far beyond running trucks—you will help define the equipment strategy, material sourcing, operational model, and long-term growth plan. This is a builder’s seat with real ownership.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Launch and operate volumetric/mobile batch concrete operations
  • Develop material sourcing strategies (cement, aggregate, admixtures)
  • Evaluate and potentially implement central silos or self-batching systems
  • Oversee production quality, mix consistency, and compliance
  • Hire, train, and lead operators and support personnel
  • Establish maintenance, calibration, and uptime standards for volumetric trucks
  • Build dispatch, scheduling, and production workflows
  • Own operational budgets, cost tracking, and profitability metrics
  • Support scaling to multiple crews, trucks, and markets

Required Skills/Abilities:

General

  • 7+ years in volumetric concrete, mobile batching, or specialty concrete operations
  • Proven experience running or helping scale a concrete or materials operation
  • Deep understanding of CLSM / flowable fill / trench backfill applications
  • Strong operational leadership and decision-making ability
  • Comfort being accountable for performance, costs, and results

Preferred

  • Prior experience standing up a new batch plant or mobile operation
  • P&L responsibility or division-level accountability
  • Experience supporting underground utilities or telecom work
  • Familiarity with local/state material specs and DOT requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is typically preferred in:
  • Construction Management
  • Civil Engineering
  • Architecture
  • Building Science
  • Minimum 5 years Project Management experience.
  • I–3 years of experience in construction or project coordination roles.
  • Internships, co-op programs, or assistant roles during college are often counted toward experience.
  • Typical early roles include:
    • Assistant Project Manager
    • Field Engineer
    • Estimator
    • Scheduler

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able and willing to work indoors and outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions
  • Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
  • Must be able to work around heavy equipment and machinery
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hard hat, and any applicable safety gear
