Job Description:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will manage the inception, development, implementation and sustainment of medium voltage (12kV) through low voltage (480V and below) AC and DC electrical systems supporting the many assets at the Disneyland Resort. You will help develop bid level construction documents including drawings and specifications. Another responsibility is to provide immediate support and response to reactionary projects requiring immediate attention. Support the development and authoring of proposals and develop work load estimates with critical path schedule dates to support our project management team.

You will report to the Manager, MEP Engineering with DLR Architecture & Facilities Engineering and sit in Anaheim, CA.

You Will / Job Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • In this collaborative role, you will act as Owner's Representative on projects from concept through construction at the Disneyland Resort.

  • Perform as Engineer of Record, including signing and sealing construction documents as needed.

Management:

  • Manage the design and development of contract documents of projects with in-house and outside resources to meet project scopes, schedules, and budgets.

  • Coordinate design activities and monitor field installations and demolition work that comply with specifications and code requirements.

Technical Skills:

  • Use and build your experience to develop concept designs and RFP's (Request for Proposals).

  • Review drawings, engineering calculations, and specifications and ensure that all projects are designed and executed to applicable local and state codes and statutes.

  • Review shop drawing submittals and respond to vendor's requests for information per Resort standards.

  • Site visits to problem solve issues and minimize schedule impacts.

Relationship:

  • Partner with internal teams to develop, maintain, communicate, and enforce Walt Disney Company design guidelines, standards, master specifications, and details.

  • Assist Project and Design Managers to resolve design compliance issues relating to Projects requirements. Validate that all Item Specifications are consistent with products installed before archiving manuals.

  • Build enhanced communications and expectations to successfully execute all projects.

You Will Have / Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of work experience in related engineering discipline, discipline and field related experience.

  • Experienced with design, procurement, and logistics.

  • Experience motivating and overseeing the work of others (examples include vendors, interns, etc)

  • Ability to collaborate and endeavor in a team environment to ensure a successful product.

  • 1+ years of AutoCAD and Revit experience.

  • Self-starting collaborator to provide experience to bring concepts into physical reality.

  • Familiar with California Electrical code, IEEE electrical low voltage (Brown, Buff and Red book) , California energy code (i.e. Title 24), able to develop concepts, further and enhance electrical safety practices, and procedures within electrical engineering design, implementation, and provide overall discipline stewardship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CA Professional Engineer (License in good standing)

  • Disney College Program, Internship or early career experience.

  • Other Disneyland Resorts Lines of Business (LOB) experience.

  • Field engineering experience in resort, theme park, hospitality, restaurant, retail, or similar complex operating environments.

  • Lighting design and implementation with certification

Required Education:

  • BS in Engineering or related field (preferred from an ABET accredited university)

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $115,300.00 to $140,900.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
