Order Fulfillment Team Lead

Reports To: Order Fulfillment Manager Position Type: Full-time Base Pay: $18/hr

Job Summary

The Order Fulfillment Team Lead is responsible for supporting and leading the day-to-day execution of order fulfillment operations. This role helps run the floor, supports daily planning, ensures work is completed to standard, and helps the team meet productivity, quality, safety, and service expectations.

The Team Lead is expected to maintain strong hands-on competencies in core fulfillment tasks and will spend approximately one-third of their time performing ground-level work alongside the team. The remaining time will be focused on coordinating workflow, training team members, resolving operational issues, communicating with internal and external partners, supporting marketplace shipping needs, and driving continuous improvement.

This position plays a key role in keeping daily operations organized, identifying and removing obstacles, improving processes, and ensuring team members are trained, capable, and aligned with department expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily floor execution for Order Fulfillment operations.
  • Support daily planning by monitoring order volume, staffing needs, workflow priorities, drop-off schedules, pickup deadlines, and other time-sensitive requirements.
  • Help ensure daily fulfillment goals, quality standards, safety expectations, and department KPIs are met.
  • Train and coach team members on standard processes, work expectations, systems, productivity, quality, and consistency.
  • Maintain hands-on proficiency by regularly working alongside the team in core fulfillment tasks.
  • Monitor workflow throughout the day and respond to issues that prevent team members from working effectively.
  • Support Amazon and Walmart shipping processes as part of daily marketplace fulfillment responsibilities.
  • Use the Ship-Bob WMS/OMS platform to support order fulfillment, workflow visibility, and issue resolution.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, department leads, management, third-party suppliers, vendors, and partners as needed.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, waste, safety concerns, and recurring issues within the fulfillment operation.
  • Support continuous improvement by helping develop, test, and implement better ways to complete work.
  • Promote a safe, clean, organized, and productive work environment.
  • Escalate larger workflow, performance, quality, safety, or system issues to management when needed.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks commonly required in a warehouse or fulfillment environment.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience in order fulfillment, warehouse operations, shipping, logistics, or a similar environment preferred.
  • Experience using a WMS, OMS, shipping platform, or similar fulfillment system preferred.
  • Previous leadership, training, or coaching experience preferred.
  • Experience with Amazon or Walmart shipping processes preferred.
