What You Will Contribute:

The Engineer I, Manufacturing is responsible for assisting new product development while sustaining and improving existing manufacturing processes. This role assists with new product and process technologies into production, ensures manufacturability, and supports ongoing operations through troubleshooting, testing, and continuous improvement. While supported by senior engineering mentorship, the Engineer I must have the willingness and ability to learn, work effectively in a multi-discipline team, and demonstrate effective problem-solving initiative, and motivation.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues and making necessary repairs in a timely manner.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement working with senior engineers for guidance, selections, and implementation.

  • Learn and apply project management tools to ensure manufacturing projects meet cost and timing objectives.

  • Lean and apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to project work

  • Develop highquality documentation.

  • Learn financial analyses techniques for capital justifications for new products, processes, and equipment.

  • Support production on weekends when needed in areas of expertise.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • Internship experience in Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering role is strongly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles (green belt level) preferred. (certification not required)

  • Basic understanding of SQL or related database language

Working Conditions:

  • Work approximately 50% on the manufacturing floor or in the lab and the remainder at a desk.

  • Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally

  • Weekend work may be required

  • Complete audiogram testing as required by department.
