Job description

Fall Intern

Provides basic clerical support, performs various office tasks, and provides general customer service within the assigned department or external organization. Essential functions include assisting with departmental assignments, providing support on departmental projects, assisting the department in the delivery of excellent customer service, and performing other duties as assigned. May develop and apply Career Readiness Competencies including critical thinking and problem solving, oral and written communication, teamwork collaboration, digital technology, leadership, professionalism work ethic, career management, global intercultural fluency.

Education and experience/training requirements include being currently enrolled in Tri-C, having a declared major on record, a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher, and being 18 years or older. Must complete a Summer Internship Application, and Confidentiality and Nondisclosure Statement, and successfully complete a pre-employment background check and/or drug testing. Must be enrolled during Summer Semester, and must have plans to register for classes in Fall Semester at Tri-C.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include basic knowledge of customer service concepts and practices, commitment to providing excellent customer service, organizational and time-management skills, sound written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population, and working accurately with great attention to detail.

Physical demands/working conditions include sitting comfortably to perform the duties of the job, performing repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type, some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc., and walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.

This is a part-time non-bargaining unit position, with a set rate of pay of $15.60/hour. Special note: If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
