We are looking for the best talent to work in our in-community weekly therapeutic services as a Clinical Mental Health Internship. The program assists individuals with behavior modification and gaining socialization skills, and adaptive modalities necessary to function successfully in the home and community. This position is the face of the organization and individuals in this role have a daily impact on improving the quality of life for the individuals served as they provide 1:1 direct behavior analysis services in home and community settings. Clinicians will provide services utilizing assigned Treatment Plans and Positive Behavior Supports.   • Long-term and short-term schedule flexibility. Part-time hours are anywhere from 2- 20 hours per week, depending on the number of referrals accepted.

*Key Responsibilities:*
  • Shadowing IIC and BA Cases
  • Submission of internship or practicum requirements (how are hours being tracked amp; shadowing requirements, etc.…)
  • Submission of weekly progress notes using daily living tasks checklist and DAP Note Format
  • Working directly with individual ages 4-21 and their families
  • Providing Behavioral Assistance to assigned youth
  • Assisting in providing individual and small group therapy
  • Assisting IIC Therapist in providing psychoeducation, crisis prevention and intervention, and addressing maladaptive behaviors in assigned youth.
  • Individual Support of plan development and implementation of BA Treatment Plans
  • Compliance with service authorization, including time frames and service hours.
  • Delivery and monitoring of behavior analysis services
  • Collect data and carry out treatment as designated by the supervising Therapist, which includes:
    • facilitating environmental arrangements
    • using behavioral and clinical interventions
    • teaching and developing new skills
    • Implementation of behavioral procedures for the acquisition of replacement skills reduction of problematic behavior
    • Behavior modification, conditioning and positive reinforcement.
  • Must be willing to work with the child or youth to increase life skills
  • Assist parent/guardian in the implementation of the treatment plan.
  • Educated parents on positive parenting, behavior reinforcements and smooth transitioning.
  • Assist Therapists in crisis prevention, recognition, and intervention.
  • Ensure all agency policies are implemented and followed.
  • Participate in required BA and clinical training.
*Qualifications and Skills:*
  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree Program for Counseling, Social Work, Marriage amp; Family Therapy, Psychology or related field.
  • Completed Practicum or enrolled in an internship for a Master’s Degree Program in one of the above fields of study
  • BAs are required to complete the DCF COSC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of their hire date (Note: This is a Virtual Training that can be spread out over the 6 month period.)
  • Have at least 2 years experience in behavioral healthcare or related field and has experience working directly with individuals who have behavioral issues (maladaptive behaviors), developmental/intellectual disabilities, or mental illness
  • Has knowledge of Behavioral Interventions and some clinical training
  • Valid NJ Driver’s license and proof of car insurance.
  • Valid Social Security Number or work authorization
  • Must consent to and pass complete State/Federal Criminal Background Checks.
  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, Creole).
