Position Summary

Spire is seeking an Intern Consultant to support engagement teams on forensic and dispute resolution projects for owners, contractors, and subcontractors across numerous sectors of the AEC industry. The Intern Consultant provides litigation support in complex construction-related disputes involving commercial, educational, industrial, residential, healthcare, and other projects, while gaining hands-on exposure to project controls (time, cost, and risk). The Intern Consultant supports the completion of client engagements and internal projects, promotes Spire's company values, and works to achieve the company's core purpose.

Responsibilities Claims & Forensic Analysis

•      Assist with construction defect analysis and the quantification of damages for construction disputes.

•      Assist with quantifying and documenting delays, evaluating productivity impacts, and performing Change Order analysis.

•      Support the analysis and preparation of construction claims.

•      Evaluate project planning, costs, and schedules, including damages involving standard of care and due diligence.

•      Perform risk analysis and document recommendations.

•      Review and analyze project documents.

•      Perform legal research of industry standards.

Quality & Operations

•      Ensure work products conform to the highest quality standards and consistently apply Spire's QA/QC guidelines.

•      Provide feedback on company standards, procedures, and processes.

•      Complete proper timekeeping for billing purposes.

Communication & Professional Growth

•      Communicate clearly and professionally with Spire staff and project stakeholders through verbal and written interactions.

•      Approach the internship with a learning mindset — asking questions, seeking feedback, and building foundational knowledge of construction claims and dispute resolution.

•      Collaborate with a team-oriented attitude, willing to pitch in wherever needed to assist the engagement team.
