Job description

Cognicion LLC is a boutique consulting firm that helps organizations address complex data privacy, cyber response, and eDiscovery challenges. We are actively recruiting a Consultant-level professional to directly support external Data Privacy clients. This role works closely with Senior Consultants, cross-functional partners, and client representatives to operationalize organizational privacy processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Acts as the initial point of contact for operations-related, client-driven data privacy issues and questions. Independently resolves issues and escalates higher risk issues to the appropriate party.
  2. Assists in operationalizing client's data privacy needs by following, anticipating, and executing directives on a wide range of sophisticated privacy issues. Identifies opportunities for process improvement.
  3. Develops and implements workflow processes and procedures that meet project client-directed specifications aligned with clients' programs and coordinates or performs the operationalization of special requests. Collaborates with internal and external teams to post and update relevant documentation. Partners with cross-functional teams such as IT, InfoSec, Procurement/Sourcing, HR, Sales, and Marketing to collaborate on projects and drive program initiatives.
  4. Analyzes and identifies key reporting fields to support optimal metric tracking and reporting as outlined by client.
  5. Assists in vendor management by reviewing vendor due diligence risk assessments, conducting privacy impact assessment trainings, and reviewing data protection addendum redlines.
  6. Participates in data privacy meetings and presentations. Responsibilities may include developing agendas, leading discussions, providing status updates, identifying/analyzing results, and generating action items.
  7. Assists in compliance module support by setting permissions, granting access, leading walkthroughs, and responding to and researching/testing escalated functionality questions.
  8. Raises privacy awareness through the development and distribution of company-wide communications, demonstrating an understanding of relevant issues and client processes.
  9. Stays informed of privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, LGPD and FCRA.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required. Juris Doctorate preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in Data Privacy preferred. Will also consider experience in areas such as information governance, data mapping, cybersecurity, and any other related field.
  • CIPP certification preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Working knowledge of Data Privacy tools such as OneTrust and TrustArc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Data Privacy trends, regulations and technologies that impact the industry.
