Job description

Summary

The Inventory Data Specialist performs data entry, updating, verifying and/or retrieving of data into/from various systems; processing; and ensuring the accuracy of information recorded.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist the Merchandise Manager and Inventory Manager with daily tasks
  • Purchase and Inventory Support:
  • Maintain, enter, update and verify data into internal database for use by all personnel
  • Reorder products from certain vendors
  • Enter warehouse orders for stores
  • Enter serial numbers for product
  • Create purchase orders and SKU's for new vendors
  • Verify delivery of product and handle discrepancies
  • Remove shrinkage, defective and stolen merchandise out of inventory
  • Upload Ace load manual orders
  • Change pricing in database as needed
  • Place items on clearance in database
  • Track documents received and track completion dates
  • Run and distribute reports
  • Merge old and new sku's
  • Enter dropped merchandise to create bin tag batches
  • Place special orders for all stores through the retail support center
  • Manually enters add-on-items to weekly Ace orders
  • Contact vendors with price discrepancies as needed
  • Answer central telephone system and direct calls accordingly as needed
  • Greet and direct visitors to the corporate office

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

ability required.

Education and/or Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate; Associates degree preferred
  • Excellent alpha and numeric data entry skills.
  • Experience in a retail environment.
  • Ability to problem-solve and work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to travel to all store locations
