Job Opportunity: Full-Time Data Center Construction Technician

Garrett Electric is a leader in the commercial industrial electric arena, and we are seeking a skilled and versatile Data Center Technician to join our esteemed team.

Purpose

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Data Center Construction team, working on various Data Center Projects. Our crews install and modify the structural systems that support electrical equipment and infrastructure inside some of the largest data centers in North America. You will learn specialized installation methods, work with engineered support systems, and develop skills that are not commonly found in the construction industry.

Duties
  • Install engineered support systems for electrical infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and layouts.
  • Install anchors, structural hardware, and support assemblies.
  • Build Unistrut, trapeze, and custom support systems.
  • Install firestop systems in walls, floors, and penetrations.
  • Perform layout using lasers, measuring tools, and construction drawings.
  • Dig and prepare trenches or excavations as needed for installations.
  • Operate aerial lifts and other jobsite equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
  • Coordinate with journeyman electricians and other construction trades.
  • Follow company safety standards and quality expectations.
  • Assist with material handling, staging, and job site organization.
  • Perform other functions as required/requested.Qualifications
  • Construction experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in active construction environments.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel for projects.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.We Offer
