The Video Editor II has a proven track record as a Video Editor. The Video Editor II is a strong conceptual thinker with a passion for video, animation and user experience as critical components of effective brand-building across WGU's video channels. The Video Editor II plays a leadership role, translating communication objectives and data to tell a story through video and animation, and has a strong drive to innovate and develop something new and different as well as implement workflows for effective and efficient postproduction.

At WGU, our mission is to expand access to high-quality education through innovative, student-centered experiences. As a Video Editor II, you play a key role in bringing that mission to life through compelling visual storytelling that elevates the brand and engages audiences across channels.

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with Business Owners, Copywriters, Designers, Video Editors, the Video Manager, and Creative Director to conceptualize creative tactics aligned to business, marketing, and branding objectives
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of campaign objectives and devise strategies to achieve them
  • Lead the creation of compelling video content and innovative solutions for integrated marketing initiatives that support and elevate the WGU brand
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and partner with creative teams to develop cross-channel concepts spanning digital, social, traditional media, live events, and more
  • Edit raw footage, dialogue, sound effects, music, and motion graphics while applying color grading, clean-up, and audio enhancements to build cohesive visual narratives
  • Take a proactive approach to improving marketing tactics and develop rough cuts, storyboards, mock-ups, motion graphics, and pixel-perfect assets
  • Develop and maintain video style guides, brand assets, templates, and efficient workflows to drive consistency, quality, and scalability across the Creative Video Team
What is Required
  • Bachelor's degree in multimedia, film studies, or related field or 7 years in the film and television production industry.
  • 5+ years professional experience in post-production (editing, motion graphics, color correction, animation, etc.).
Bonus Points
  • Live event or broadcast production experience
  • Experience with project management tools such as Asana, Wrike, Trello, or ClickUp
  • Familiarity with Digital Asset Management tools, live streaming platforms, and captioning or ADA processes
Experience in Lieu of Education

An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Work Location
