As an estimating intern, you will take on responsibilities similar to those of a lead estimator, giving you a firsthand look at a career in construction. Working closely with the estimating and preconstruction teams, you will be involved in various stages of project development. A mentor will be assigned to guide and support you throughout the internship. Additionally, you will have the chance to engage in company events and community volunteer activities.

Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist department managers and team members with daily tasks and projects, including research, data collection, and estimate preparation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals, offering creative ideas for process improvements.
  • Support estimating activities by performing quantity surveys with the lead estimator, conducting sub-trade solicitations, managing bid documents, and completing bid day assignments.
  • Review and recap sub-trade bids, visit job sites, and use in-house estimating software to support project work.
  • Promote Knutson Construction through community involvement and deliver The Knutson Experience.
  • Exhibit behaviors and actions that are aligned with Knutson's Zero Incident Safety Culture
  • Respond to and complete all other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of and proficient in the use of personal computers and related Microsoft software.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
