About the Role
The Financial Analyst - Portfolio Management plays a key role in forecasting, valuation, market analysis, and reporting for Fairfield's funds and joint ventures. You'll partner closely with portfolio managers, asset managers, and executives to help ensure our investment strategies are well-informed, data-driven, and aligned with performance expectations.
This position is based at our corporate office in San Diego, CA, with in-office attendance required Monday-Thursday and remote work on Friday. With this hybrid setup, applicants must be within commuting distance of our corporate office in the Sorrento Valley area of San Diego, CA.

Portfolio Monitoring & Forecasting
• Support monitoring of asset performance and variances
• Assist with forecasting against budget and proforma
• Help identify performance trends and market patterns
Financial Modeling & Analysis
• Build complex models, valuations, and projections
• Prepare sensitivity analyses and financial summaries
• Conduct market and performance ranking research
Reporting & Presentations
• Contribute to internal and investor reporting packages
• Develop presentation materials for senior leadership
• Assist with special reports and analysis as needed
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work with portfolio and asset managers to inform business plans
• Coordinate with multiple teams to support decision-making
• Assist with special projects requiring financial insight

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required, with a preferred major focus in finance, accounting, or real estate
  • MBA is a plus, but not required
  • 1+ years of work experience in commercial real estate, financial analysis, accounting, or related fields is strongly preferred; relevant internship experience may be applied toward this requirement
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required (knowledge of macros is a plus), as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Financial modeling experience is preferred
  • Complete understanding of basic financial concepts such as IRRs, NPVs, time value of money, etc.
  • Desire to learn and grow professionally in the commercial real estate industry Outstanding organizational skills and ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with Argus and Business Intelligence Software a plus

Estimated Rate of Pay:
$71,250.00 - $76,500.00
This position is exempt; the range above reflects annual salary.
The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any). In addition to base salary, Fairfield offers all full time associates the following, upon meeting eligibility requirements:
