Job description

DESCRIPTION:  The purpose of this position is to deploy and maintain client computer systems, both hardware and software, district wide at multiple locations.
SALARY:  Classified Grade BB, starting at $33.98 per hour to start, depending on recent relevant experience. 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.  12 month position.  Position eligible for benefits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Install all client software.
  2. Deploy and image new computer systems.
  3. Deploy and support mobile devices including ipads, android devices and phones.
  4. Perform maintenance and imaging of all client computer systems.
  5. Troubleshoot and do minor repairs on networked printers.
  6. Troubleshoot 1st level network connectivity issues.
  7. Create hard drive images for each location and each lab.
  8. Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues on workstations and laptops.
  9. Perform 1st and 2nd level software support in the K8 domain and 2nd level support in the HS domain.
  10. Work with vendors for software support and hardware repair parts.
  11. Communicate with clients to teach them use of basic functions on their software and hardware.
  12. Develop scripts to resolve software issues.
  13. Maintain inventory of workstations, laptops and printers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma.
  • Post-secondary courses in business or vocational school equivalent or up to one year of college, with an emphasis in Computer Information Systems.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License required.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  1. No experience, and up to and including two years experience in Computer software support 2 years, computer hardware support - 1 year, network support 1year.
  2. Must have basic network troubleshooting skills, intermediate computer hardware repair and software troubleshooting skills including Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products.
  3. A+ certification in both hardware and software and N+ certification required within 6 months of hire.
  4. Valid Colorado Driver's License required.


DIVERSITY OF DUTIES:  This job includes every aspect of initial computer setup and support. Therefore, in addition to computer operating systems and application knowledge, the position requires knowledge of network wiring and configuration since all computers are part of a wide area network. This position supports Microsoft Outlook which interfaces with Exchange on the server so there must be some familiarity with Exchange. The job performs support of printers which therefore requires knowledge of how the software component of the printer is setup on the server.
