Internship Term: Fall 2026 (September - December)
Internship Location: on-site in Indianapolis, IN
Anticipated Time Commitment: approximately 30 - 40 hours per week
Pacers Sports & Entertainment is seeking a Merchandising & Retail Intern that will work closely with our merchandising team to learn and actively participate in all aspects of the day-to-day retail operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Gain an overall exposure to all aspects of merchandising and retail operations including but not limited to daily team store operations, product management, finance, digital operations, information technology, and data analysis.
  • Work closely with team store management and learn the daily operations of the team store including but not limited to opening / closing of the store, visual merchandising, product replenishment, and fans and guest services experience.
  • Participate in warehouse operations including but not limited to e-commerce processes, customer inquiries, fulfillment, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Participate in game / event day operations including assisting with game or event set-up.
  • Must be available some holidays, nights and weekends.
  • Other duties and projects assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Enrolled in a college or university program as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
  • Strong interest in retail, merchandising, e-commerce, business, or marketing.
  • Passion for the sports and entertainment retail industry.
  • Excellent communication, organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic, team player, and customer focused attitude.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to twenty pounds.

While performing the required tasks duties as the intern, the noise level in the office work environment is usually low to moderate, while the Fieldhouse during a game is typically loud. The stress level may become high during certain times of the year.
