Are you looking for an outstanding opportunity to bridge your military career and upcoming civilian life?
Nevada County's "Achieve More" Internship Program offers diverse variety of internships for separating service members. Our goal is to help our interns achieve their career aspirations and to ensure transition to civilian life is smooth!
This program is crafted to allow active duty service members up to 180 days to intern with various departments within the County to gain valuable skills to assist in the transition from military service. In order to offer our interns the greatest benefit, the minimum internship duration is 90 days. Internships of less than 90 days, can be reviewed on a case by case basis.

  • Board of Supervisors
  • Office of Emergency Services
  • Information & General Services
  • Health & Human Services Agency
Our SkillBridge program helps ensure you are fully prepared for civilian life! Benefits of working with our organization is we partner with our Veteran's Service office to assist you from start to finish. Not only do you gain valuable civilian work experience, we ensure you have access to file your VA claim while participating in the program.

Most internships that we offer are in-person, located at our offices in Grass Valley, Nevada City and Truckee, California. Nevada County is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. Online or hybrid in-person / online internships may be negotiated, but are not guaranteed based on the nature of the job role and the internship advisor hosting the position.
