Avail Health & Behavioral Solutions, LLC is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Independent Companion Caregiver to join our registry network as a Direct Care Provider. In this role, you will play a key role in guiding the client's personal development, modeling healthy social boundaries, and creating a safe, stress-free environment for them to thrive. You will also get to enjoy a variety of fun outings including bowling, swimming, fishing, arcades, movies, and local activities. This would be a great opportunity for caregivers, teachers, students, or any caring professionals with personal experience supporting an individual on the autism spectrum.

Responsibilities

Provide transportation to fun and engaging community activities

Encourage positive behaviors and reinforce person-centered goals

Promote client dignity, choice, and community involvement

Maintain professional boundaries and respectful communication

Ensure client safety following APD guidelines and agency protocols

Communicate effectively with agency leadership, families, and support coordinators

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for professional use (gas/mileage not reimbursed)

Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening

Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs

Demonstrated ability to manage client care and safety with limited supervision

Personal smartphone required for app-based scheduling and client communication

CPR/First Aid Certification (required within 30 days of onboarding)

APD Training Certificates (required within 30 days of onboarding)

Paid Internship & College Credits Available

We will gladly sign your paperwork to help you meet internship requirements or earn college credits! This role is an incredible resume builder for Psychology, Special Education, and ABA majors, as well as other related human services programs. You will gain valuable hands-on experience with in-demand skills such as behavioral redirection, social modeling, and community integration. Plus, you will receive free state-mandated training credentials through the Florida Department of Health and Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).

This is an Independent Contractor (1099) position, not a W-2 employment role. Contractors are strictly responsible for their own tax obligations (including self-employment taxes) and are not eligible for company-sponsored benefits, health insurance, or paid time off.
