Job description

Position: Calypso Business Analyst / Functional Consultant

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Duration: Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Calypso Consultant / Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets and Commodities trading, coupled with proven expertise in training delivery (Vertigo or similar platforms). The ideal candidate will support the implementation, customization, and optimization of the Calypso platform to meet business needs across trading, risk management, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a functional SME for Calypso implementations and upgrades across Capital Markets and Commodity products (including energy, metals, and derivatives).
  • Collaborate with business users and IT teams to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional specifications within Calypso.
  • Configure Calypso modules for front-to-back trade lifecycle: trade capture, pricing, risk, settlement, and reporting.
  • Deliver end-user and team training using Vertigo or equivalent platforms developing content, leading workshops, and building knowledge libraries.
  • Support testing (UAT, SIT) and defect resolution.
  • Provide post-go-live support and helpdesk triage.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and system enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working with the Calypso platform (v15 or higher preferred).
  • Solid understanding of Capital Markets and Commodities trading workflows.
  • Familiarity with products such as FX, IRDs, energy swaps, physical commodities, and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of trade lifecycle management, pricing, risk management, and collateral.
  • Hands-on experience delivering or managing training programs, ideally with Vertigo or similar LMS platforms.
  • Ability to write clear documentation and training materials.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • Calypso certification or formal training.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Familiarity with APIs, Java customization in Calypso, or integration frameworks.
  • Exposure to ETRM platforms alongside Calypso is a plus.
