Job description

HII Mission Technologies Internship

This is an unpaid internship through the DoD Skillbridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. The objective is to learn F-15E Strike Eagle Mission Training Center (MTC) operations to include mission planning, mission operations, and system debrief operations.

Desired end state (2-3-month target): At the end of three months, the intern will be able to develop mission scenarios in coordination with customer requirements, operate and troubleshoot missions, operate debrief system and assist local customer mission debrief analysis. The intern will develop an understanding of F-15E MTC technical documentation and development of Site Issue Reports (SIR) for maintenance and operation deficiencies. HII-Mission Technologies will benefit from the military background of the SkillBridge intern and considers the SkillBridge internship an overall positive experience.

Program of Instruction Training Location: Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV Detailed Training Plan Phase 1 - Basics Week 1: In processing, Introductions/office familiarization Week 2: Introduction to Boeing Scenario Planning Tool (SPT) software Week 3: Introduction to Boeing Instructor Operating Station (IOS) software Week 4: Introduction to Boeing Briefing / Debriefing System Phase 2 - F-15E MTC Operation / Integration Week 5: Complete full system planning, execution and debrief for USAF F-15E Weapons School Week 6: Introduction to Combat Air Forces Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) Network Week 7: Complete integration event with other sites (Nellis AFB or offsite) utilizing DMO procedures and security protocols Week 8-SkillBridge End: Support F-15E Weapons School class 26A as MTC operator and Instructor Pilot Additional Goals Identify opportunities for F-15E Operational Test (OT) utilization in MTC Identify current F-15E MTC software limitations from actual OT aircraft on Nellis AFB Introduce to future Nellis Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) operations Introduction to Virtual Test & Training Center Battlespace operations and training opportunities

Minimum Qualifications Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service. Applications accepted within final 12 months of active-duty military service. Education and Experience dependent on Program of Instruction. Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Education: Bachelor's degree (minimum) Flight Background: Must be a former F-15E Instructor Pilot or Instructor Weapons System Officer (WSO) Capable of operating the F-15E simulator using current USAF tactics and joint employment standards Proficient in mission planning software Able to load mission files into simulators and associated devices (e.g., Electronic Flight Book) Familiarity with the Instructor Operating System (IOS) for the F-15E simulator

Preferred Requirements Master's Degree: Especially in a relevant field like aviation, military studies, or instructional design Weapons School Graduate: USAF Weapons School experience is highly valued Operational Test Experience: Familiarity with 53d Test & Evaluation Group or similar units Advanced Instructional Skills: Experience supporting USAF Weapons School or Operational Test events Ability to produce mission planning products and analyze post-mission data Systems Integration: Experience operating within synthetic training environments Ability to support working groups to advance simulator capabilities Liaison Expertise: Proven ability to serve as a subject matter expert and liaison with USAF Warfare Center and other stakeholders
