Group Facilitator Job Description

Responsible for leading a variety of psychoeducational and activity group curriculum, along with other duties that provide support for clinical staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate a variety of gender-specific groups including, but not limited to, activity and psychoeducational
  2. Maintain accurate documentation of clients' participation and progress while attending group sessions in the electronic medical record system
  3. Comply with MN Statute Chapter 245G requirements regarding timely paperwork and documentation
  4. Regularly meet with direct supervisor and attend regular team meetings
  5. Provide support and intervention in crisis situations
  6. Maintain professional interaction with clients, staff, interns and community partners while following a strict code of ethics
  7. Work alongside peers to offer and receive support when needed
  8. Maintain consistent communication with primary counselors and clinical supervisors regarding client progress and/or issues that may arise during group sessions

Required qualifications:

  • Must be a Master's Level Mental Health Student (Clinical Trainee), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), be able to obtain an Alcohol and Drug Counselor Temporary permit (ADC-T), or hold the license of LSW, LICSW, LP, LPCC, LMFT, or MFT.
  • Must obtain and maintain required continuing education units and training
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be free of chemical use for at least two years preceding hire

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of MN Statute Chapter 245G and licensing preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and electronic medical record programs.
