What is an internship COBOL CICS programmer?

An Internship COBOL CICS Programmer is an entry-level or student position where individuals assist in developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting applications written in COBOL that run on IBM mainframe systems using the Customer Information Control System (CICS) transaction server. Interns in this role typically work under the supervision of experienced programmers, learning about legacy mainframe environments, batch processing, and transaction management. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in a critical area of enterprise computing, often found in industries like banking, insurance, and government.

As an Internship COBOL CICS Programmer, you will typically be involved in supporting and enhancing legacy mainframe applications used by large organizations. Your daily tasks may include writing and debugging COBOL code, assisting with system testing, and performing data analysis or batch processing. You will likely collaborate with senior programmers and business analysts to gather requirements and implement changes.
