Job description

As a Civil Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Raynham, MA office, the successful applicant will develop a diverse skill set providing support for our waste management project team preparing engineering solutions that protect and sustain the environment and community. Interacting with clients, contractors, other industry professionals, and state and local government officials, you will impact the entire project from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction phase for projects located both in and outside of New England. The various functions associated with the position will include:

  • Civil engineering design, primarily associated with solid waste facilities including large scale earthwork grading projects, performing excavation and fill volume calculations, road layout, hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations in support of designing stormwater management systems, hydraulic calculations associated with pipe design, pumping systems, and controls, and geotechnical analyses
  • Use of engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HydroCad
  • Preparation of construction bid documents including Engineering Drawings and Technical Specifications, and Bid Quantities
  • Construction oversight (your time will be split between the office and field)
  • Environmental monitoring of groundwater, surface water, landfill gas, and air
  • Technical writing

The pay range for this position is between $70,000 and $80,000. The hiring range posted is a good faith estimate of what Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. may reasonably offer for the role as outlined. Factors such as additional education and/or experience may influence the actual offering.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) required
  • Engineer in Training certification (EIT) preferred
  • 0+ years of experience
  • Previous internship/co-op experience a plus
  • AutoCAD and Civil3D experience a plus
