About the Role:
We are looking for ambitious movie-obsessed students to join our IMAX Internship Program this Summer. This 10-week program focuses on hands-on learning, skill development, and real-world work experience in a collaborative and innovative environment. The internship will take place from June to August in the Playa Vista office.
This role offers an opportunity to learn how IMAX content is created, including exposure to IMAX's projection and sound systems. The Post-Production and Operations team is responsible for creating and distributing all versions of IMAX releases to a global theatre network. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Quality Assurance team to review multiple versions of IMAX titles

  • Learn basic digital cinema mastering tools and procedures

  • Collaborate with internal Distribution and Studio partners to establish timelines and deliverables

  • Learn basic workflows of 70mm print distribution

  • Assist with fulfillment of DCPs to the theatre network and projector parts distribution

  • Support special projects assigned by the manager

  • Complete an internship project

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Film Studies or Production, Technology or Coding, or Communications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Ability to follow direction, manage responsibilities under pressure, and meet strict deadlines with limited supervision

Nice to Have
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation with a personable and approachable attitude

  • Previous internship or co-op experience

  • Passion for IMAX

Hiring Range :
$21.00 (per hour) Placement within this range depends on a candidate's experience, skills, internal equity, and regional market factors. Eligible roles may also receive additional non-discretionary compensation such as shift premiums or overtime pay.
