Job description

Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company is seeking Junior Software Developer in Patuxent River, MD to support mission-critical DoD programs through the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in computer science, hands-on development experience, and familiarity with real-time systems to contribute to secure, scalable applications in a collaborative environment.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $75k-$85k annually (depending on experience)
Work Location: Onsite.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practices
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C/C++ and other object-oriented languages
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions
  • Support system enhancements by adding new features and optimizing existing functionality
  • Contribute to software testing efforts, including unit testing and integration testing
  • Assist with version control, build pipelines, and deployment activities
  • Other duties as assigned or required

Requirements

Required:

  • Experience developing in C/C++
  • Experience working in object orientation
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications

Desired:

  • Experience with Ada95/98
  • Experience with real-time operating systems
  • Familiarity with Mission Systems Avionics
  • Knowledge of military narrowband communications

Education/Years of Experience:

Security Clearance:

 Active Top Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
