Job Title: Member Experience Intern

Department: Member Experience

Supervisor: Director, Member Experience & Retention

Job Classification: Non-Exempt

Job Type: Part-Time, 29 Hours per Week (September - December)


Summary:

The mission of the Boston Celtics internship program is to educate its participants in all aspects of operating a professional sports organization. Through observation and practical experience, interns learn how to function in a professional environment that requires a high energy level, the ability to perform under pressure and the utilization of essential time management skills. Through these developments, the Boston Celtics strive to successfully prepare their interns to compete for positions in the professional sports industry.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Member Experience Department on game nights with Season Ticket Member gift pick-up, and pre & post game experiences
  • Work exclusive Season Ticket Member events, including nights and weekends
  • Assist Member Experience Executives with client and special requests
  • Engage with Season Ticket Members and Fans and address any questions or concerns that may arise while delivering a positive experience
  • Execute & organize tasks through multiple platforms, including Archtics & Salesforce (CRM)
  • Data track via Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Manage the Boston Celtics Fan E-mail and Phone Inquiries
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the department as needed

Qualifications:


  • Prior experience in customer service
  • Previous similar experience in entertainment/sports/events is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong social skills with the ability to build and maintain favorable relationships
  • Ability to apply active listening and conflict management skills
  • Ability to be compatible with other departments under many circumstances
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust to rapidly changing business conditions


Learning Opportunities:


  • Experience in customer service, sales, and benefit planning and execution with Celtics Season Ticket Member base


Requirements:


  • Must be a junior or senior undergraduate student or graduate student
  • Academic Credit
  • Ability to work scheduled home games and events

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this/these range(s) will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market and industry considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure, performance, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
