PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Program Specialist, Senior Services at Catholic Charities:
  • Assists with the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of program employees/volunteers/interns.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Agency's values and policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees/volunteers/interns; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees/volunteers; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
  • Plans curriculum and facilitates support/education groups for clients.
  • Provides professional case management services (including crisis intervention) to program clients to improve client stability, self-sufficiency personal growth and development.
  • Determines necessary level of intervention, utilizing a client centered focus informed by Trauma Informed Practices.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date documentation, following agency policies and procedures for case record maintenance and review.
  • Maintains accurate and timely program statistical data to meet reporting requirements. Enters data and generates reports through utilization of data tracking systems.
  • Assists with the completion of program reports, case statements, reviews, etc.
  • Assists with special program projects and community outreach/projects.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Requires intermediate knowledge of computers to input information, maintain client and program data, generate reports, and create communications.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.
  • Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff through application of Agency values and Leadership Model.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from accredited four-year college or university; and one-year related experience or training preferred.
  • Experience working with the senior population preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary: $22.00 - 27.00 Part-Time -Time, 30 hours per week, but full time will be considered.
Training: We provide a robust training curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career. Training provided within the first year of employment includes: De-escalation & Safety; Mental Health First Aid; Substance Abuse & Mental Health; Human Trafficking; Trauma Informed Care; and many more.
Benefits: In addition to being part of a higher purpose while working in a challenging yet rewarding environment, eligible Catholic Charities employees receive a generous benefits package, including:
  • Shift is Part Time (30 hours per week) full time will also be considered.
  • Extensive Paid Time Off (4 weeks accrual for new employees - increasing based on tenure) promoting work life balance.
  • 15 Paid Holidays annually (shelters are 24/7, so if a holiday is worked, holiday pay is in included.)
  • 403b Retirement Plan with Agency contribution of 4% & match up to 2% of annual compensation.
  • Choice of 3 PPO Medical Plans (90% of employee's and 75% of dependent's premiums is paid by Agency), Dental, & Vision starting the 1st day of the month following start date.
  • May be eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through Federal Student Loans and many more benefits.

**Part-time employees (20-29 hours per week) also receive paid annual leave, company paid holidays, and 403b retirement plan with agency contribution and match.
