Location: Onsite - Columbus, Georgia
Compensation: Unpaid (College Credit Available)
About the Opportunity
Join the Columbus River Dragons in Columbus, Georgia, and gain hands-on experience in professional sports operations, marketing, fan engagement, broadcasting, and community relations. This internship is designed for individuals seeking practical experience working alongside a professional hockey organization while developing valuable skills applicable throughout the sports industry.
Interns will play an important role in supporting daily operations, game-day execution, fan experiences, and organizational initiatives while gaining exposure to multiple areas of professional sports business.
Responsibilities
Game Operations & Fan Experience
  • Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of home games and special events.
  • Support in-game promotions, contests, sponsor activations, and fan engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate participants for on-ice and intermission activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to fans, partners, and guests.
  • Represent the organization at community appearances and promotional events.

Marketing & Content Creation
  • Assist with social media content and promotional campaigns.
  • Capture photo and video content during games, practices, and events.
  • Support graphic design, video editing, and digital marketing projects.
  • Help maintain brand consistency across team platforms and communications.

Broadcasting & Media Relations
  • Assist with live game broadcast preparation, operation, and breakdown.
  • Support the production of pregame, in-game, and postgame content.
  • Assist with media relations, credential distribution, and press box operations.
  • Coordinate with broadcasters, media representatives, and league personnel.

Merchandise & Retail Operations
  • Assist with team store operations and inventory management.
  • Support merchandise sales and online order fulfillment.
  • Maintain merchandise displays and assist with restocking and organization.

Community Relations & Events

Qualifications
