Job description

The future of defense will be decided by those who field intelligent machines at scale. At Scout AI, we're developing Fury, the first robotic foundation model for defense, to give U.S. forces overwhelming, adaptable, and autonomous power across every domain. Fury enables human operators to command fleets of robots through natural language, and empowers those machines to sense, decide, and act together as one. This mission will ask everything of us: urgency, precision, and relentless work.
The RoleThrough the DoW SkillBridge program, Scout offers transitioning service members the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the forefront of defense technology. As an intern, you'll work side by side with our engineering and operations teams to support testing, data collection, vehicle operations, and mission execution for our autonomous ground and air systems.
This is a field-focused, high-tempo role where you'll help operate and maintain platforms, contribute to test missions, and ensure data is collected and processed to accelerate autonomy development. You'll also gain exposure to how startup teams build, scale, and adapt learning how cutting-edge technology is translated into operational capability.
We're a startup environment: fast-moving, collaborative, and mission-driven. SkillBridge Interns play a meaningful role in shaping our processes, culture, and technology. This is a unique chance to apply your military experience to the development of the world's most advanced robotic systems while exploring a career in the national security innovation ecosystem.
Responsibilities
  • Support real-world testing, data collection, and mission execution activities for autonomous ground and air systems
  • Operate and assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of vehicles and sensor payloads in field environments
  • Contribute to structured test events by executing assigned tasks, documenting observations, and ensuring reliable data capture
  • Assist with troubleshooting, logistics, and system readiness to maintain operational tempo
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams to support product development and demonstrations
  • Learn and apply Scout's internal processes, tools, and workflows to support rapid iteration and deployment

Qualifications
  • Active-duty service member approved to participate in the DoW SkillBridge program
  • Within 180 days of separation or retirement from military service
  • Ability to commit to the agreed SkillBridge internship duration
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, and adaptability in fast-paced environments
  • Comfortable working outdoors and supporting hands-on operational tasks
  • Clear communicator and reliable team member

  • Collaborate with some of the top engineers in autonomy, AI, and national security
  • See your work deployed on real systems
  • Help define the future of intelligent defense systems
  • Backed by Draper Associates, Booz Allen Ventures, and other top investors

Benefits

  • Unlimited AI tokens
  • Catered lunch daily and fully stocked kitchen
  • EV charging
