Job description

JD:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Oracle Database Admin services to production, in-house testing, proof of concept.
Install, configure and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c/13c Cloud control
Installation, DB Planning, Database Design and Development using ORACLE database versions 12c/11g
Setup database high availability by installing / upgrading Oracle Cluster ware 11g/12c.
Plan, document and execution of Disaster Recovery procedures.
Setup Backup methods for High availability of database and minimal Downtime and complete recovery of data
Clone / Refresh non-production databases from production. Setup automation to refresh data between PROD and UAT
Configure and maintain Active Data Guard
Lead the DBA team to support on 24x7 basis
Identify and resolve performance issues in RAC, Non-RAC databases. Analyse AWR, trace files to resolve performance issues.
Index maintenance by creating, re-building them. Detecting Row Chaining and resolving using segment space advisor.
Evaluating Performance of SQL statements and PL/SQL modules by EXPLAIN PLAN, SQL TRACE, TKPROF OS utility, SQL * PLUS AUTOTRACE.
Applying CPU / PSU / interim patches
Partition management like splitting, adding, moving, converting non-partitioned tables to partitioned tables, setup automate jobs to archive data from LIVE to ARCHIVE
Migration of databases from on-premise to cloud platform
SQL, PL/SQL scripting to creating Database Triggers, Stored Procedures, Stored Functions, packages
Create and maintain Unix shell scripts for day-to-day activities
Setting of scheduled jobs in the database, on the server and in Oracle Enterprise Manager
Install, upgrade and support Oracle APEX
Install and configure Web logic Server, BI Publisher cluster
Support Mid-tier tools like Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Web Cache, Web logic and BI Publisher
Handle Data Centre migration by migrating / moving the databases, applications.
Setup cloud infrastructure like EC2 Servers, S3 buckets, Oracle RDS databases for applications
Design, develop and implement database, ETL related modules to setup data warehouse.
Setup and maintain Database Migration Service on cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services
Handle heterogeneous database migration involving databases like Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres etc.
Work with vendors like Oracle, Rack space, Amazon on getting resolutions to the day-to-day issues
Provide support to developers in code migration and releases.
Train and guidance for Junior Database Administrators and Database Administrators
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To be completed only for jobs with organizational supervisory responsibilities.
Indicate the types of supervisory responsibility applicable to the position and enter additional information if relevant.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of database implementation in cloud and interfacing with applications in cloud.
Experience and knowledge in migrating code, database changes, data and menus through the various stages of the development life cycle.
Sound knowledge of both database and program code performance tuning.
A good knowledge of the operating system(s).
A good knowledge of physical database design.
A good knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery scenarios.
Skills involving all Oracle tools and processes.
Analytical thinking skills.
Problem solving.
Technical Expertise.
0-3 years of relevant experience.
