What you’ll do: 

Position title: SAP Sales Performance Management iXp Intern – Operations Analyst 

Location: Hybrid, Chicago, IL 

Expected start date to end date: July 2025 – July 2026  

We are seeking a Business Operations intern to join our Sales Performance Management team. This role is ideal for recent college students or graduates with a degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Communications or related fields, who are looking to gain practical experience in customer success operations and strategy as well as product analytics.  The intern will be responsible for supporting 2 teams: Services and Customer Success.  The successful intern will contribute to building analytics solutions, responding to ad-hoc reporting requests, and establishing a regular reporting and publishing cadence for the SPM team.  This role will also collaborate cross-functionally to support high-impact initiatives, streamline operational processes, and help elevate the overall customer experience.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Enablement for Forecasting Tools 

    • Project Reviews (Financial Issues) 

  • Create and Review Revenue Accuracy Report 

  • Biweekly updates on Leadership team call 

  • Monthly Delivery Business Review 

    • Actuals, Utilization, Project Reviews (Top Watch, Red & Yellow Projects), missing time, accuracy 

  • Build and manage a regular reporting publication cadence 

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and formulate reporting requirements 

  • Review and analyze business metrics and summarize findings and potential actions. 

  • Edit and publish periodic newsletters and status reports 

  • Renewal Forecasting: 

    • Assist in preparing and maintaining renewal forecasts for the leadership team. 

    • Own and manage the renewal master forecast file for the SPM CSM team, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates. 

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: 

    • Fulfill ad hoc data requests and queries from Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and leadership. 

    • Analyze trends in customer health, churn risk, and renewal performance to generate actionable insights. 

    • Support the creation and maintenance of dashboards and reports to automatically monitor KPIs. 

  • Content Management & Enablement: 

    • Develop a content management strategy to centralize Customer Success resources, templates, playbooks, and collateral. 

    • Build or help implement a platform (e.g., SharePoint, Workzone) that serves as a one-stop shop for team content needs. 

  • Customer Success Operations Support: 

    • Document and optimize key processes (e.g., onboarding, renewals, provisioning, escalation management). 

    • Support internal communications by helping craft newsletters, training documentation.  

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

    • Partner with Sales Ops, Support, Marketing, and Product teams to support cross-functional initiatives that impact customer success. 

The Sales Performance Management (SPM) Line of Business is focused on the growth and success of the SPM portfolio. The SPM portfolio is a set of tools and processes that drive the revenue-generating and revenue-persuading behaviors and resources needed for organizations to meet their corporate goals.  

The SPM portfolio consists of several solutions, including SAP Incentive Management, SAP Territory and Quota, SAP Agent Performance Management, SAP Agent Connect, and others.  

The SPM business is in incubation status and does not have standard functions like Business Operations fully staffed, yet performance reporting and analytics are clearly key functions that need to be addressed. This is a great opportunity for a mature intern who is interested in using their Microsoft Office skills and data and analytics skills to jumpstart their career.   

What you bring:

Required Qualifications: 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related office suite of products.  Must be comfortable extracting data from various Cloud applications and performing basic data translation and manipulation in Excel.  

  • Experience in Microsoft SharePoint to build functional, user-friendly sites. 

  • Comfortable producing graphical reporting and observations with business narrative.  

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.  

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when necessary. 

  • Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous internship or work experience. 

  • Pursuing a BS or BBA with upper-class status in Business, Math, Finance, Accounting, or related backgrounds.   

  • Willing to work in an office environment 

  • Advanced MS Excel skills such as VLOOKUP, data export, and pivot tables 

  • Self-starter  

Meet your team: 

This will primarily be an in-office role with at least 3 days in office, with Tuesday and Thursday as mandatory in-office days. You will be part of the Birmingham, Alabama team that includes Services, Product, Engineering, Customer Success and Sales Engineering. It is extremely important the candidates can operate in a team environment and are able to work both independently with minimal supervision, but also help others when they may have some down time in their schedule.
