Job description

This is an open pool posting and applicants will becontacted only if a suitable position becomes available. Pool may be used tofill vacancies for the Fall 2026 - Summer 2027. This pool expires 05/31/2027. Applicants wishingto remain in this pool past 05/31/2027, must reapply at that time.

Position Summary:

Adjunct candidates are sought to form a hiring pool for temporary teaching positions in rehabilitation counseling, human services, ย public health andย  community health education at the University of Northern Colorado. Lecturers will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses (on-campus or online) for the 2026-2027 academic year. Degree programs include a B.S. in Rehabilitation and Human Services, a M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling and Community Health Education is a Master of Public Health concentration with the Colorado School of Public Health at the University of Northern Colorado.

Job Duties:

  • Develop syllabus and canvas shell for course implementation
  • Instruction and Evaluation of Course Material

ย  ย  ย Minimum Qualifications:

Must have one of the following:

  • PhD, EdD, DrPH, or other terminal degree to teach graduate courses
  • Master's degree in a field relevant to the course being taught (public health, biostatistics, policy, etc.) - and one of the following - (a) 2-years of full-time experience in a field relevant to the course being taught (public health, biostatistics, policy, etc.) and a National-level Certification/Credential in the field relevant to the course being taught (CHES/MCHES, CPH, etc.)
  • 3 or more years of full-time experience in a field relevant to the course being taught (public health, biostatistics, policy, etc.).
  • Potential for or evidence of innovative, learner-centered pedagogy.
  • A commitment to high quality instruction of a diverse student body is essentialย 

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous teaching experience is preferred.

About the Department:

The Department of Rehabilitation Counseling, Human Services andย  Public Health houses Rehabilitation Counseling, Human Services and Public Health programs. The Human Services program provides a comprehensive understanding of the techniques and theories in the helping professions. You will master the skills needed to solve real-world problems using a variety of human services methods. The undergraduate degree in Human Services provides students with the skills to be able to work in a variety of human services settings. A hallmark of this program is the fieldwork experiences integrated into course requirements. The health sciences degree allows for a concentration in either public health or health administration. The health sciences degree also provides a pathway into the Master of Public Health program through an accelerated program. The department also houses the only rehabilitation degree program in Colorado. Students in this program are prepared at the professional level to work with people with physical and/or mental disabilities. The Rehabilitation Counseling graduate program includes experiences through practica and internships. The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree is focused on Community Health Education and within the Colorado School of Public Health (COloradoSPH).ย  ColoradoSPH is a collaborative school including three academic institutions, over 200 faculty, and over 500 students across three campuses.ย  MPH students are able to take public health courses at all three ColoradoSPH campuses. MPH student complete their degree with practice-based internships and a final capstone project.
