Internship Bilingual Underwriter Jobs (NOW HIRING)

In this position, you'll have appropriate property and casualty insurance licenses to sell, quote, bind coverage for prospects. You'll be responsible for completing extensive training and development programs to gain product knowledge, sales and customer service skills needed to effectively review existing coverage and advises prospects and customers regarding policy and coverage options.

Position Compensation Range:

$25.00 - $31.88

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

• Sells available insurance products to new or existing clients via various customer contact channels. Estimates and quotes policy premiums complying with underwriting guidelines.

• Makes appropriate recommendations on policy coverages and options, closes sales, and process applications in an accurate manner.

• Gathers all necessary information to assess if prospective customers meet underwriting guidelines. Contacts appropriate division for underwriting guidance when needed.

• Meets sales and sales quality goals.

• Gains and demonstrates knowledge of the company's competitive advantage by comparing competitor products and services.

• Develops knowledge and skills to qualify and follows up with sales leads.

• Identifies clients` needs and cultivate effective sales relationships.

• Learns to convert incoming leads into qualified customer engagements.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• Must pass bilingual assessments in reading, understanding, writing, and conversing fluently in both Spanish and English.

• Attention to detail to provide accurate quotes to clients.

• Ability to multi-task on multiple computer systems/screens during a quote.

• Ability to clearly explain insurance concepts and coverages to clients.

• Must have previous sales experience to be considered.

Licenses

• Education/Licenses/Designations:Required to have the state licensing for property and casualty producer licenses.

• Property and casualty producer licenses for all operating and/or service states must be obtained within 90 days of hire AND / OR Resident Life license within 30 days of hire, Non-resident Life license within 90 days of hire, CLU, ChFC, or CFP designation must be obtained within a specific timeframe, as defined by manager.

• Must complete required continuing education credits to maintain state property and casualty producer AND / OR Life licenses.

• Must maintain property and casualty producer AND / OR Life licenses for all operating states and/or service states.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10%.

• Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations to help you connect with our mission, meet key team members and build relationships that support your growth. At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.

In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home, proximate to one of our office locations (within approximately 35-50 miles). On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events.

Starting base pay is $25/hour with uncapped monthly and quarterly bonus plans to you in addition to your base pay.
