What is an internship BFA illustration?

Internship BFA Illustration positions are temporary work opportunities designed for students pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Illustration. These internships allow students to gain hands-on experience in professional illustration settings, such as publishing, advertising, animation, or design studios. Interns typically work under the supervision of experienced illustrators or art directors, contributing to real projects while building their portfolios. The experience helps students develop technical skills, industry knowledge, and valuable connections for future careers in illustration.

What do internship BFA illustration positions do?

You may also collaborate with senior illustrators, designers, and art directors to refine your work and meet project goals. Additionally, interns often gain exposure to the full illustration workflow, including research, brainstorming sessions, revisions based on feedback, and preparing artwork for publication. This hands-on experience is designed to build your technical skills and professional portfolio.
