Position Overview:

Looking for a fun, hands-on internship where you can build real event planning experience while working in an exciting environment? Typhoon Texas Waterpark is looking for an energetic Events Intern to help bring our biggest summer events to life. From themed park days and live entertainment to holiday celebrations and special activations, this role helps create unforgettable experiences for thousands of guests. This internship is perfect for students interested in event planning, marketing, hospitality, or entertainment who want real-world experience coordinating events, working with vendors, and collaborating with multiple departments.

Responsibilities:

Plan & Coordinate Events

  • Assist with planning and executing themed park events throughout the season.
  • Communicate with event vendors, performers, and partners before and during event days. Collect and organize vendor documentation including Certificates of Insurance (COIs).
  • Create detailed Run of Show (ROS) documents outlining schedules, activities, and operational details for each event.
  • Provide finalized Run of Show documents to the Marketing team for promotion and internal distribution.

Bring the Park to Life

  • Help decorate the park for major events and seasonal celebrations.
  • Assist with event setup including signage, vendor areas, activity stations, and themed spaces.
  • Coordinate with the Food & Beverage team to help develop themed food and beverage offerings for events.

Engage with Guests

  • Interact with guests to promote event activities and create an exciting atmosphere.
  • Help facilitate games, activities, contests, and entertainment elements.
  • Support vendors and entertainers to ensure a smooth guest experience.

Communication

  • Share upcoming event details with park leadership and team members.
  • Create event signage and coordinate production to ensure signage is posted throughout the park.
  • Work with the Marketing team to ensure event information is accurate and well-promoted.

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Hospitality, Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or related field preferred).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Creative mindset and attention to detail.
  • Outgoing personality with a passion for guest experiences.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors during event days.

Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, early mornings, nights, and holidays.
  • May be required to work in various weather conditions, such as direct sunlight, high temperatures, or rain.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing over 30 pounds as part of daily responsibilities.
  • May occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, or balance.
  • Must be able to multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be an effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to deliver feedback, share analysis, communicate updates, and lead teams with a positive influence.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and professionalism with attention to detail in a high-volume, guest focused environment, and perform job responsibilities accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in product optimization and strategic purchasing.
