Job Title: Database Administrator
Location: Baltimore, MD 21202
Job Summary:-
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support database modernization initiatives and enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration, database security, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and Azure SQL technologies.
The DBA will be responsible for maintaining database availability, ensuring data integrity, optimizing system performance, managing security controls, and supporting database migration and upgrade activities.
Responsibilities:-
  1. Establish and maintain database performance standards.
  2. Monitor database usage and analyze performance metrics.
  3. Perform database optimization and troubleshooting.
  4. Implement database security standards and access controls.
  5. Manage database users, permissions, and security configurations.
  6. Perform database backup, recovery, and archival activities.
  7. Support database migration and upgrade projects.
  8. Assist with moving legacy databases to modern SQL Server and Azure environments.
  9. Monitor database capacity and recommend improvements.
  10. Develop SQL queries and reports based on business requirements.
  11. Support database design, enhancements, and system upgrades.
  12. Create documentation and provide database support/training.
  13. Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:-
  1. Strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  2. Experience with SQL Server security, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  3. Knowledge of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  4. Experience with relational database management systems.
  5. Experience writing SQL queries and generating reports.
  6. Experience troubleshooting database performance issues.
  7. Experience with Azure SQL Database or Azure SQL Managed Instance.
  8. Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and Azure Database Migration Service.

Education & Experience:-
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
