Job description

Role Overview

Kodak is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support enterprise database platforms including Primary: Oracle and Postgres, Secondary: Microsoft SQL Server, and SAP HANA. This role is responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, and recoverability across production and non-production environments, partnering with infrastructure, application, and security teams to deliver stable and compliant data services. 

Responsibilities:
   Install, configure, administer, and maintain databases across production, QA, and development environments on premise and in Azure Cloud.
   Support databases associated with SAP applications and workloads (e.g., SAP HANA) in partnership with SAP Basis and application teams.
   Migrate Oracle databases to Postgres 
   Monitor database health and performance; troubleshoot and resolve incidents; perform root-cause analysis and implement preventative actions.
   Plan and execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies; regularly validate recoverability (test restores) and document RTO/RPO support.
   Perform performance tuning at database and query levels (indexing, statistics, execution plans, configuration parameters, capacity planning).
   Implement and maintain database security controls, user/role management, and encryption/auditing as required; support security reviews and compliance/audit requests.
   Execute patching, upgrades, and migrations with documented implementation and back-out plans; coordinate maintenance windows and communications.
   Support high availability and resiliency solutions (e.g., clustering/replication/log shipping/DR) appropriate to each platform.
   Partner with application and integration teams on data model changes, deployment planning, and production readiness.
   Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting and scheduling tools; improve monitoring and alerting to reduce toil.
   Participate in an on-call rotation and provide off-hours support during maintenance windows, incidents, and major releases.

Qualifications:

   5+ years of hands-on database administration experience supporting enterprise production environments.
   Administrative experience preferably in Oracle or Postgres secondarily Microsoft SQL Server or SAP HANA. 
   Experience with database installation/configuration, patching/upgrades, performance tuning, and HA/DR patterns.
   Strong knowledge of SQL and database fundamentals (indexing, transactions, locking, query optimization).
   Experience implementing and validating backup/recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
   Working knowledge of OS concepts and troubleshooting (Windows and Linux), storage concepts, and networking basics.
   Experience with monitoring/alerting and log analysis.
   Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and communicate clearly during incidents.
   Proficiency with automation/scripting to streamline operations.
   Ability to create clear technical documentation (runbooks, standards, implementation/back-out plans).
