Job description

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) provides high-quality, professional services to government and commercial sectors. Our mission is to deliver exceptional management and technology solutions supporting the protection and preservation of the people and environment of the United States of America.
RMC is hiring for a Sr. SQL Database Administrator to support our government customers in Dahlgren, VA. The successful candidate will perform in a fast-paced environment in the capacity of upgrades/migrations; instance/database hardening and supporting system accreditation activities; application and database troubleshooting; code review to include (evaluating the implications of using stored procedures and constraints to implement business rules), database design/development, optimize performance, recommend and implement process improvement technologies.
Requirements
  • Minimum of ten (10) years DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2008R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019) and Azure SQL Database (PAAS, IAAS, DAAS) in Production, Q/A and Test, and Development environments.
  • Experience with T-SQL and PowerShell Scripting - query writing, indexing and DB I/O performance tuning, Stored Procedures, functions and views, customization coding, data models & Entity Relationships Diagrams (ERDs).
  • Experience implementing and supporting highly available SQL Server environments, including experience with Failover Cluster and Always-On.
  • Experience with SQL Server troubleshooting, performance tuning, issues monitoring and resolution, to include extended events and performance monitoring.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud and Database Service, to include Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience with reporting, integration, and/or analysis services.
  • Knowledge and experience in high availability and disaster recovery (HADR) principles and practices, to include planning, testing, backup/restore using disk-based backup solutions.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and human relations skills to interact with clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pay meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University in MIS or Computer Science related field and Six (6) years' technical experience.
  • In lieu of degree, Ten (10) years of technical experience and MS Azure Database Administrator Associate Certification (DP-300).

Certification Requirements:
  • Certification: DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 (Security+ CE or equivalent) or Level 3 (CASP, CISSP, or equivalent).
  • Certification: MS Azure Database Administrator Associate Certification (DP-300) is strongly desired. Will be required to obtain and maintain certification within 60 days of employment.

Security Clearance Requirements:
  • Security Clearance: An Interim DoD secret security clearance is required to start.
  • Applicant must be able to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance. Selected applicant may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

* Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $115,000 to $150,000 annually.
