What We're Looking For: 

Michael Baker is seeking a Civil Engineer with aviation experience to support the planning, design, and delivery of airport infrastructure projects. This role will include a combination of project management support, leading aviation civil design teams, and field engineering duties, working closely with project managers, designers, contractors, and airport stakeholders in active airfield environments.

What You'll Do:

Engineering & Field Support

  • Lead the design and construction of aviation infrastructure projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield pavements, utilities, and support facilities
  • Serve and engineer of record for aviation civil projects.
  • Review plans, specifications, and submittals for technical accuracy and constructability
  • Perform field observations to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with project documents
  • Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and airport operations to support construction phasing and access requirements
  • Assist with quantity tracking, field measurements, and pay applications
  • Support resolution of field issues, RFIs, and change documentation during construction.

Project Management Support

  • Assist Project Managers with project schedules, cost tracking, and progress reporting
  • Participate in client, consultant, and construction meetings
  • Lead coordination between design, engineering, and construction teams
  • Prepare project documentation including meeting minutes, progress reports, and closeout materials
  • Assist with risk tracking, issue management, and project controls

What You Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience supporting aviation or airport infrastructure projects
  • PE license
  • Experience working in active airfield or airport environments
  • Knowledge of airfield pavement systems, civil site design, and construction means and methods
  • Understanding of project management principles and construction coordination

COMPENSATION 
The approximate compensation range for this position is $110,000  to $151,000  This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
