About ATI:

Automated Tire (ATI) is a fast-growing, funded stealth startup revolutionizing the service bay with breakthroughs in robotics, automation, and AI. From tire changes to alignments, we’re replacing outdated manual processes with fast, intelligent, precision-driven systems—restoring trust between vehicle owners and service shops.

Founded by experienced entrepreneurs and backed by major players in the automotive and tire sectors, ATI is positioned to lead the next wave of innovation in automotive robotics. Our team, with a strong background in robotics development and scaling, is driving our rapid growth.

If you're passionate about the future of automotive robotics, ATI is the place for you!

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you’ll design, build, test, and iterate. You’ll work side by side with experienced engineers on projects that blend mechanical design, robotics, and controls — helping bring our cutting edge product to life. This is a hands-on role that will provide you with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while making a real impact on the future of robotics.

This is a full-time 3-6 month onsite internship position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, assemble, test, and evaluate mechanical and electromechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Create, review, and update 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and documentation for production.
  • Develop test plans, collect data, and perform analysis to validate product designs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical issues, and help develop creative solutions.
  • Create test tools, fixtures, or scripts to support the engineering team’s development work.
  • Participate in design reviews and daily problem-solving with a cross-functional team.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our design and development processes through feedback and innovative thinking.
  • Build your time management, communication, and technical skills in a fast-paced, real-world environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as Onshape or SolidWorks.
  • Comfortable working with basic shop tools such as drills.
  • Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with technicians, other engineers, and managers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic professional setting with changing needs and requirements.
  • Have one-or-more of the following hands-on experiences:
    • Lab research, member of a project team, prior internship or previous work experience
    • Have an up-to-date resume and portfolio of your previous experience to highlight what you have learned and how you have applied that learning.

To Apply:

Please submit your resume. A portfolio showcasing your design, build, or test work is highly encouraged and strongly preferred. This can include personal projects, student competition work, prototypes, or any other examples that demonstrate your hands-on engineering skills.
