Test Engineer - Automotive Digital Key
(in Mountain View, CA or in Detroit, Michigan)

About the Role
We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our team in Mountain View, CA, with a strong focus on Digital Key technologies.
This role is a great fit for someone early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to automotive hardware, software, and security-relevant systems, and who enjoys working close to real customer projects in Silicon Valley.
You'll work with modern automotive test environments, support customer programs, and gain experience across HIL systems, bench setups, trace analysis, and system validation.
What You'll Do with the team:
  • Support customer projects in the Digital Key and connected vehicle domain
  • Build, configure, and maintain hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and test bench setups
  • Execute manual and automated tests for automotive electronic systems
  • Perform trace analysis, debugging, and issue reproduction
  • Work directly with customers to set up, troubleshoot, and validate test systems
  • Support commissioning of new test racks and ongoing bench maintenance
  • Collaborate with internal development, test, and project teams to ensure smooth execution
  • Document test results, issues, and system behavior clearly and consistently

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, or a related field
    (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Interest in automotive technology, connected systems, or security-relevant features
  • Basic understanding of hardware/software testing or lab environments
  • Willingness to work on-site and occasionally travel (~20-40%)
  • Strong team player with a hands-on, proactive mindset
