Welcome to West Liberty University!
Mission Statement:

The Opportunity:
West Liberty University is seeking applications for a recording engineer on an as need basis. The Department of Music & Theatre seeks to hire recording engineers to run sessions in our recording studio on a temporary contractual basis. Please submit a resume and at least one letter of recommendation. Experience with Pro Tools software is required. Successful candidates will undergo an orientation in the studio prior to working any sessions.
NOTE: This is a parttime (casual) position as needed on campus.
Essential Functions of the position:
  • Recording engineers at WLU are expected to run every aspect of a recording session they are assigned to and follow all studio, department, and university procedures
  • Duties include, but are not necessarily limited to, audio recording, tracking, signal processing, mixing, and mastering.

Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Recording engineers at WLU are required to have a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Technology, a bachelor's degree in audio engineering (or similar) from a different university, or significant professional experience

Skills/Abilities:
  • Required proficiencies: ProTools software, the care and use of microphones and microphone-related equipment, the proper use and maintenance of all studio equipment including, but not limited to, cables, patchbays, preamps, direct boxes, computers, monitors, displays, hard drives, and instruments.
  • Preferred skills: Mixing and post-production.
