Job description

Sourcebooks, the fastest growing and most innovative publisher in the industry, is searching for an Audio Marketing Strategy Specialist to help power the next phase of growth for Sourcebooks Audio. Our audio program is in full-on growth mode, and we're looking for a strategic, creative marketer who lives and breathes audiobooks, understands digital trends, and is excited to build outside-the-box campaigns that connect listeners with incredible stories.
This is not your typical marketing job. You'll be the Audio Specialist and thought partner across the organization-developing innovative, audio-first campaigns and also working closely with our imprint, vertical, library, international, and audience development teams to amplify and extend the reach of our titles and authors. You'll have a real seat at the table, a voice in decision-making, and the opportunity to shape how Sourcebooks shows up in
This hybrid/remote position is open to candidates based in the NY/NJ/CT tri-state area. We're prioritizing candidates who are able and willing to come into our NYC office several times a month. The role also requires occasional travel for studio visits, trade shows, training, in-person events, and author recordings.
This is an exempt, salaried position with a range of $60,000 - $72,000. We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate's qualifications.
What you'll do:
  • Develop and execute audio-first marketing plans for key frontlist, backlist, and author initiatives, including clear timelines and plug-and-play guidance for authors.
  • Lead audio marketing execution across channels-studio content, social campaigns, digital ads, trade outreach, and backlist re-promotion driven by sales and listening trends.
  • Act as the primary liaison for audio with imprint, vertical, library, international, indie, and sales teams to ensure audio is fully integrated into company-wide campaigns and priorities.
  • Manage and optimize audio assets (clips, BTS, artwork) and pitch standout audio productions, programming, and panels to media, platforms, and industry events.
  • Support paid media, email, and influencer strategies with audio-specific ideas, assets, and schedules that grow audience engagement and listening.

What you bring:
  • 2-4 years of experience in publishing, entertainment, or marketing, ideally with direct exposure to audio, digital campaigns, or consumer-facing media.
  • A genuine passion for audiobooks, storytelling, and reader/listener communities.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute marketing plans, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Experience working with social media, email marketing, and digital advertising tools; familiarity with audio or book marketing platforms is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort writing marketing copy, author guides, and internal briefs.
  • A data-informed mindset: ability to interpret sales and engagement data to spot trends, surface opportunities, and refine strategy.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple titles, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, editorial, publicity, library, and international teams.
  • Comfort working in PowerPoint/Slides, Excel/Sheets, and standard Office tools as well as experience working with Klear, Meltwater and Buffer
  • Basic design skills (Canva or similar) are a plus.
