Note: This is an unpaid internship intended to supplement and support academic coursework and school credit.

Job Summary:The archives internship has been designed to give the student a broad experience with a variety of collections and types of archival work. In addition, the student will be exposed to all areas of Museum work including curatorial, conservation, collection management, and archaeology. It will also include basic training in object handling, integrated pest management, object movement, incident reports, a collections management software system, and library and archive methods.Essential Job Duties: Inventory, arrange, clean, and re-house various collection items. Update item records in the collection management software system. Assist the department on various ongoing projects. Attend training programs and department meetings.Qualifications: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program, which awards credit hours for the internship experience in the semester the student is placed with us. Prefer experience in an archive, library, or museum setting. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills and a keen attention to detail with a focus on quality. Must be proficient with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; and have the ability to quickly learn and follow Biltmore protocols. Must be comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a strong team setting.
