Job description

Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Echo and, more recently, Ring devices. What will you help us create?
In this role, you will design and implement scalable backend services on AWS that protect millions of Amazon devices (e.g., Echo, Fire TV) from emerging security threats. You will build robust, high-throughput services for data collection, real-time threat monitoring, and automated abuse detection - processing large volumes of device telemetry to identify and neutralize malicious activity. Using a defense-in-depth approach, you will develop detection pipelines and security analyzers that identify threats such as malware, privilege escalation, and anomalous device behavior.
To further innovate, you will harness machine learning techniques - including supervised/unsupervised learning, model optimization, and LLM-based approaches - to detect and classify malicious patterns at scale. You will also build complex data pipelines and automated workflows to support continuous analysis and rapid response.
Familiarity with Android and embedded Linux platforms is a significant plus, as your services will directly interface with and protect these devices.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a passion for security innovation, and hold yourself to the highest standards for software engineering, this role offers the opportunity to build critical infrastructure that safeguards the security and trust of millions of customers.
