Valley Hospital Medical Center

Valley Hospital is located in the center corridor in the heart of the Las Vegas Medical District (LVMD) with 306 acute care beds, including a 48-bed behavioral health unit. As a teaching hospital with graduate medical education, a new pharmacy residency program and over 600 multidisciplinary clerkships and internships offered annually, we focus on the use of evidence-based medicine and the importance of following clinical pathways that research has shown to be effective with most patients.

Job Description:
Provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her supervision. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred.

Experience:

One (1) year full-time or three (3) years part-time experience in acute care setting preferred

License/Certification:

Current RN license in the State of Nevada. Current BLS Certification. Current PALS Certification (pediatric patients) or current NRP Certification (Neonatal patients) as required by department. Other certification as may be required by facility, specialty or department.

Other:

Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Note:

An RN graduate is a nurse who has completed a course of study at a school of nursing and is eligible for the NCLEX. The RN graduate performs directly under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or RN designee. An interim RN license must be granted by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
