Job description

Description:

Who We Are

risk3sixty is a bootstrapped, U.S.-based security and compliance firm that has run thousands of implementations and holds an 89 NPS in an industry that averages 57. No outside investors, no board, no PE exit pressure. The people our clients meet are the people doing the work. We help CISOs and GRC teams turn security and compliance from a scramble into a program they can stand behind.

The Role

This is a hands-on engineering internship focused on making the AI Platform inside fullCircle more reliable, usable, and observable. The AI Platform is becoming a cornerstone of how our clients interact with fullCircle, so its performance directly shapes client trust and everyday usability. You will ship real work: think evaluation coverage for a feature that was previously unmeasured, or a cost and usage dashboard that helps the team make better platform decisions. You will work alongside the platform's Staff Engineer with weekly code reviews, product scoping discussions, and the chance to demo directly to C-suite leadership.

Beyond the immediate project, this internship builds our talent pipeline in AI Engineering, one of the most competitive disciplines in the market right now.

What You'll Work On

  • Improve the reliability, usability, and observability of the AI Platform within fullCircle.
  • Build evaluation coverage for AI features, including areas that are currently unmeasured.
  • Contribute to tooling such as a cost and usage dashboard to inform platform decisions.
  • Deliver a working, demoable system by the end of the internship.
  • Write clear documentation and collaborate asynchronously with the engineering team.

What You'll Gain

  • Hands-on experience building and evaluating production AI systems, a discipline in high demand and usually not yet covered by coursework.
  • Exposure to how AI is applied in a GRC and compliance domain.
  • Direct mentorship from the platform's Staff Engineer, including weekly code reviews, product scoping, and experience demoing to C-suite leadership.
  • A portfolio-ready project and a real understanding of what shipping AI responsibly looks like inside a B2B SaaS company.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Programming proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript.
  • Comfort working with APIs, reading unfamiliar codebases, and using documentation.
  • Familiarity with LLMs and prompt-based systems.
  • Strong written communication for documentation and async collaboration.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to ask questions, which matter more here than knowing every answer.

Bonuses:

  • Exposure to SQL.
  • Exposure to AWS.
  • Exposure to data analytics.
